Community Access Service


The BANC Community Access Service is for people living in the Upper Blue Mountains who live in supported accommodation, private accommodation, or boarding houses and have a mild to moderate cognitive impairment. The Community Access Service aims to provide recreational and social activities, community integration and to connect people to their local community.

BOOSH


At Blackheath Out Of School Hours (BOOSH) we offer a holistic program. Our social framework aims to enhance life skills and interpersonal skills for children. We provide experiences such as gardening, cooking, woodwork, art and design, dance, drama, and so much more in a home-like environment.

Blackheath Community Hall Hire

The Centre is ideally located on the Great Western Highway directly opposite the Blackheath Railway Station and is adjacent to the picturesque gardens. It is a multipurpose venue which makes it suitable for a variety of activities.

NILS

The aim of the BANC No Interest Loan Scheme (NILS) is to provide no interest loans to people on low incomes living in the following areas: Leura, Katoomba, Medlow Bath, Blackheath, Megalong, Shipley, Mount Victoria, Dargan, Bell, Mount Irvine, Mount Wilson, Mount Tomah.

Child Friendly City
BANC is participating in the drive for the Blue Mountains area to be recognised as a Child Friendly Community. Encouraging the communities in the Blue Mountains to embrace the concept of a Child Friendly City means that new parents will supported, that children will learn through structured and unstructured play and that language-rich social environments will support early literacy.

Blackheath Area Neighbourhood Centre (BANC) has a proud tradition of providing the low-cost, entry-level computer tuition. Cyber_Shed is BANC’s new community project specialising in information and communications technology, dedicated to teaching social media as a cornerstone of modern life.
