1ST BLACKHEATH SCOUT GROUP

The 1st Blackheath Scout Group has been part of the
community of the Upper Blue Mountains for over 90 years.
We provide boys and girls, young and old with lots of
fun, challenging experiences, skills development and
motivation to do their best and prepare them for an active and rewarding life.
Each section has its own trained Leaders and Assistant Leaders. Scout Leaders come from all walks of life, from parents of Scouts, to childhood Scouts, to people with no Scouting experience at all!

Are you over 55 years of age? Would you like to enjoy a delicious low-cost meal with great company? Come along to the Village Restaurant
on Wednesdays and enjoy great food, good fun and friendship.

The delicious meal is provided by Blue Mountains Food Services. Community Transport provides a bus pick-up if needed.

Blackheath Walkers

HEART FOUNDATION WALKING

Blackheath Walkers are into six years of walking as a local community group. Many friendships have been formed. We walk in a variety of amazing locations around Blackheath village each Monday at 8.30am.

This is a health walk and the purpose of this program is to promote both regular exercise and create an activity which provides motivation to continue. Walking with a group is more social and less ‘have to’.

Blackheath Walkers meet at Jubilee Park next to Blackheath Oval on Mondays at 8.30am. After the weekly walk, walkers are encouraged to bring their morning tea, and to mix with the entire group. For further information please contact Ian Gilchrist: 47878150.

Blackheath Physiowalks

Blackheath Physiowalks is a Blackheath Area Neighbourhood Centre (BANC) & Heart Foundation walking group for men. It is also part of the US -based network Walk With a Doc network. Men can join and walk for free.
The group founder is Dr. Andrey Zheluk, a physiotherapist, academic, and Heart Foundation volunteer walk organiser.

BLUE MOUNTAINS OCCASIONAL CARE

We are open in school term every Friday from 9:30 am to 2 pm at Blackheath.

We offer an early childhood program where children can make friends and learn through play (for children 0 – 6 years). Many of our families use occasional care so they can study

BLACKHEATH & DISTRICT HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY

Your local Garden Club that welcomes all levels of gardeners from the knowledgeable to those with black thumbs.

Meetings are held on the first Thursday of each Month (except January) at The Lodge, Campbell Rhododendron Gardens, Bacchante Street, from 10 am to 12 noon.
Meetings include a mini flower show, morning tea and a guest speaker. Joining Fee is $20 the first year which includes a name badge and then $15 yearly from then. A monthly newsletter is sent by email.

MT VICTORIA & DISTRICT HISTORICAL MUSEUM

Visitors will be amazed at the variety of exhibits in the museum including items from road and rail history, items from convict days and from early settlers, gowns, natural history items and historical school displays.

The museum is open from 12 to 3pm every weekend, school holiday and public holiday except Christmas Day and Good Friday.
