WALTER MASON – 16 November at Katoomba Library
Katoomba Library is hosting author Walter Mason on Saturday 16 November, 2013 at 2pm. He will be sharing about his latest book, Destination Cambodia.
Walter is a travel writer, with a keen interest in spirituality, and a background in the bookselling and publishing industry.
Destination Cambodia has been described as “a joyful and constantly fascinating literary journey in which Cambodia is vibrant and its people excited about the future while never denying their haunted past.” The book is full of Walter’s cheeky witticisms, and his observations of the small events that mostly go by unnoticed and yet in Walter’s hands turn into “utterly memorable, often riotously funny but as often genuinely touching anecdotes”. Overall it is a deeply personal exploration of Cambodia, full of genuine affection and intrigue despite the many hardships faced by the Cambodian people.
Anyone can join us to hear Walter share about his experiences in travelling and in writing, and to see some of the amazing images he has captured on his journeys. Afternoon tea will be provided, and copies of Walter’s book will be available for purchase courtesy of Megalong Books.
Bookings can be made by calling 4780 5750 or seeing library staff at any branch.
