Boujour tout le monde!
Our film for this month will be Rififi, a low-budget French film noir, directed by Jean Dassin who worked in France after being black-listed in Hollywood. Apparently, many real-life gangsters have copied the tactics used in the film by the fictional robbers. As usual, the film will have English subtitles.
We have had to move the film evening to 19 April this month, as the Community Hall is being used for a fashion parade. The noise from this event would have impacted on our enjoyment of the film, and so we decided to change the date.
As usual, we will be providing a supper of sandwiches and soup after the film, with other goodies to have with drinks beforehand.
Tea and coffee will be available, but if you wish to BYO, please do so. If you could bring your own glass it would help us with clearing up afterwards.
We are looking forward to seeing this film with the typical 1950s nail-biting suspense of its era!
Please do not forget to book by ringing the Blackheath Area Neighbourhood Centre on 4787 7770, or Heather on 0405 043 135 – RSVP 18 April for catering purposes.
PLEASE REMEMBER THE NEW DATE – 19 APRIL
Hoping to see you next week,
Best regards
