Exciting news! BANC has obtained funding for a Creative, Community, Wellbeing and Resilience Hub. Activities are on until mid-2023 in Blackheath and surrounds. Current Hub events are listed below. Note that current health regulations will apply to all. These projects are implemented through joint Commonwealth/ State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements via the Bushfire Local Economic Recovery Fund.

Join us for our first community forum and share your talking points on how we learn from the 2019 Bushfires, tell us what matters most to you and how we can help our community, speak to industry experts and find out more about changing legislation. Facilitated by science writer and local resident Bianca Nogrady and featuring a panel of local representatives and industry experts.

Light refreshments will be provided and the event is free for all local residents and friends of Blackheath Area Neighbourhood Centre.

‘A short film festival celebrating Blue Mountains stories, storytellers and our creative community’. Featuring live, local, Indie Pop Rock band, “Club Halifax!” Awards presented at the end of each session.

Join us for a round table discussion led by Billy Gruner with special guest speakers Allen Hyde, Wayne Brennan, Liz Bastian, Wynn Jones & Ian Brown to find out what’s happening in our area and help plan for the future.

There will be art on display by local Dharug Artists Judy Miller and Leanne Jones and live music by the Jaga Band.

Shared Reading Group

Sharing stories is one of humanity’s oldest and most profound traditions. This group is a great way to experience great stories and meaningful conversations.

At the Shared Reading Group you can choose to read a story aloud, join the discussion or just sit in silence, listen and enjoy a cup of tea. No pressure!

The group begins on July 28th 2022 and will run for nine weeks.
