The first Friday of every month, BANC holds Fridays at 125, a social event with pizza, social mingling and games. Here, BANC General Manager Leah Godfrey masters the pizza oven at the inaugural event. Yum!
“Terrific initiative.”
“Pizza was scrummy!”
“Good get-together. I’ll be back.”

Participants of all ages had a magical time making faery doors for their gardens at out May workshop. See some of their handiwork at left.

Eco-Dyeing workshop
Sue Wildman led a fascinating workshop on eco-dyeing. Participants used natural materials like bark, leaves and flowers to create cards and wall hangings like the one at left. Gorgeous!

Mocktails and Matisse
BANC’s Seniors Week event was Mocktails and Matisse, an indulgent event with spectacular alcohol-free cocktails and goodies from the deli. Led by BANC’s own Jo Davis and Jade Hudson, participants then went on to express themselves with a range of artistic works. Great fun!

Family Art Workshops
Children under 12 and their parents meet once a month to express their creativity together in a joyful and messy art workshop. Materials and inspiration are both provided by facilitator Hannah. You’re invited to join in the fun on the third Saturday of each month.
This activity has been funded by Wentworth Healthcare, provider of the Nepean Blue Mountains Primary Health Network, as part of the Australian Government’s response to the 2019/20 bushfires.

James Gering’s first series of writing workshops was so successful, they were repeated due to demand. The workshops included all genres of writing from lyrics and poetry to fiction and non-fiction.

Upper mountains green thumbs flocked to a composting and worm farm workshop by Lyndall at Cliff View Farm (left). Many also returned for the working bee (below). Look out for more hands-on events at the community farm on Shipley Plateau later this year.

Participants at BOOSH’s before and after school program made bird-themed masks. A much better look than those other masks we’ve had to wear!

What a lovely day we had on Saturday 29 Jan, with children and families from Blue Gum Montessori and Kookaburra Kindy coming together to celebrate the children who are going to big school this year!
Supported by Blue Gum, Kookaburra, Thrive, BMCC and BANC.
